SEMI S2/S８

SEMIとは

SEMI（Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International：国際半導体製造装置材料協会）は、半導体製造業界における国際的な標準化および業界団体であり、半導体製造装置、材料、プロセスなどに関連する規格やガイドラインの策定、標準化、技術の普及、業界関係者のネットワーキングなどを推進しています。

同協会の定めるSEMI規格は、半導体、太陽光パネル、LED、FPD（フラットパネルディスプレイ）などの製造機器に適用される安全規格(ガイドライン）です。 世界中の多くの半導体メーカーはその製造工程で使用される設備に対して第三者認証機関からSEMI規格に基づく適合性評価を要求しています。

代表的なガイドラインとして、環境および安全に関する必須要求事項を定めるSEMI S2、および人間工学的設計原則を定めるSEMI S8があり、製造工程で使用される設備・装置に対して多くのケースでこれらへの準拠が求められます。また、これらの規格・ガイドラインへの準拠にあたり、数多くの関連規格への準拠が要求されます。
